I am Joseph norah
From the shores of my homeland, I have always been a deeply sensitive soul, with a passion for the natural beauty and diversity of the Seychelles driving my artistic expression. This passion isn't just an artistic endeavor for me; it's a commitment to spotlighting the environmental fragility of our islands, aiming to safeguard them against climate change and other threats.
Artistic Philosophy
My art is deeply rooted in the fine art tradition, specializing in bronze sculptures that bring to life the rich tapestry of the Seychelles' ocean, wildlife, culture, and daily life. Each creation emerges from a place of profound respect and admiration for my surroundings, aiming to capture and immortalize the beauty, hope, freedom, and spirit of my beloved country. In every sculpture, I strive to weave a narrative that resonates with love and awe for the world around us, symbolizing the deep connections we share with nature and each other.
Inspirations and Motivations
My inspiration springs from the divine intricacies of God's creations, spanning the majesty of nature, the spirit of humanity, and the wild's untamed beauty. I draw strength and creativity from individuals who excel in their respective fields—artists, martial artists, filmmakers, volunteers, and athletes alike. Their passion, resilience, and commitment to making a difference in the world drive me in my daily practice, fueling my desire to create and contribute to humanity. Additionally, the injustices of the world move me, infusing my work with the energy to persevere and voice the silent whispers of nature and mankind through my art.
Journey and Growth
The path to becoming the artist I am today has been long and often solitary, marked by a relentless quest for self-improvement and mastery of my craft. Each step of my journey has been an opportunity for growth, pushing me to explore new horizons and refine my skills. My art is a testament to this journey, reflecting my evolution as both an artist and a person.
